Moe Hime Maid Cafe (Moe Hime Maid Cafe)

We had a good time there. The maids were nice and there is a fairly low min spend. All the prices were very reasonable, especially compared to what you would spend in Japan. The maid that spoke to us, 月？ was polite and chatty. I think people have unrealistic expection of these places. There are only a few staff, and they have to act as waitresses, mix drinks, take photos and chat with customers now and then. It's 520 ntd for a full meal and photo package, so I am not sure what people are whining about. I see reviewers complaining about not having enough attention for going or wanting to call in to chat with a specific girl; pretty out of touch expectations. Go in with expectation of an air conditioned place with okay tasting but cute food served by cute waitresses and you will have a good time.

Note: This review is written on 22/5/2023. As this was written while the cafe still has COVID measures in place and may not reflect current conditions. The maids were nice and the food pretty decent. Overall feeling of the cafe is the stereotypical maid cafe, modeled after the famous Japanese chain ones, with the expected decor and showyness. The place is rather claustrophobic tho due to multiple separation barriers in place as COVID safety measures, causing multiple seats to be arranged in awkward ways. It's also somewhat dimly lit. There is a very small corner stage, so I would assume there might be shows every now and then. It is rather busy so calling ahead to reserve a seat or table is advisable as otherwise you might be asked to wait. The crowd also means there will be lulls in between the maids conversing with you but they try their best. The menus does not have English but using smartphone translators can get around that. If you're looking for the stereotypical maid cafe experience, this place works just fine.
